Wer akademische Grade und Titel in den USA erwerben will, die auch in Deutschland geführt werden dürfen, der sollte sich stets über die Akkreditierungen der jeweiligen Hochschule informieren. Nur anerkannte Abschlüsse dürfen auch in Deutschland nach den aktuellen Richtlinien geführt werden. Es gibt zahlreiche anerkannte Akkreditierungsverbände in den USA. Die Legitimierungen der Privathochschulen werden in der Regel vom Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) www.chea.org vorgenommen. Was jedoch weitaus schlimmer ist, ist dass es dort noch deutlich mehr wertlose und getürkte Akkreditierungsverbände als echte und relevante gibt. Diese werden stets neu gegründet, meist von den Titelmühlen selbst, um die potentiellen Titelerwerber zu verwirren und Seriösität vorzugaukeln. Dies kann leider nicht unterbunden werden, weil die Gründung von Akkreditierungsverbänden in den USA und auch in anderen Ländern nicht verboten ist. Selbst illegalen Fake-Institutionen gelingt es dadurch, Titelkäufer anzulocken und ihnen das Geld aus der Tasche zu ziehen.
Man findet eigentlich alle bedeutenden Informationen zu Akkreditierungen, Hochschulanerkennungen usw. auf der Homepage des US Department of Education:

Wer in den USA studieren bzw. promovieren will, der sollte sich dort unbedingt umsehen.
Hier die aktuelle Liste legitimer Akkreditierungsverbände; original entnommen von der Internetseite des US Department of Education. Da die Postanschriften dieser Verbände wohl eher weniger von Bedeutung sind und hier auch den Rahmen sprengen würden, gebe ich die legitimierten Verbände in verkürzter Form wieder. Wer dennoch, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, die Postanschriften benötigt, der kann diese auf den mitgelieferten Websites selbst nachlesen.
